MaryBeth Timothy

MaryBeth Timothy loves creating images that speak to the audience. She is a self-taught creator that has been influenced by many artists, including her favorite illustrator, Norman Rockwell. Adept in many mediums, MaryBeth draws her inspiration from her love of nature and her Cherokee heritage.

Although she has been creating fine art for over 25 years, her dream of illustrating children’s books didn’t become a reality until just before the pandemic and has transitioned into a new and wonderful journey for her. Illustration is the ultimate form of storytelling and MaryBeth is excited to share, along with the authors, amazing stories with kids of all ages, around the world.

Some of MaryBeth’s books include INDIAN SHOES by Cynthia Leitich Smith; SALLY’S FIRE and WE REMEMBER (Educational picture books by Gibbs Smith Education); CHEROKEE EARTH DWELLERS by Chris Teuton and Hastings Shade.

Her work has also adorned a variety of magazine covers and featured within publications like Indian Country Today, Green Country Living and Oklahoma Magazine. In early 2019, Rogers State University TV highlighted MaryBeth in their Cherokee Artist Profile series.

MaryBeth lives in Muskogee, Oklahoma with her Muscogee Creek artist husband and their two spoiled, yet entertaining, terriers. She also has two very artistic adult sons. One is a country music artist and one writes tabletop games.
