Anne S. Bustard
Hawaii-born Anne Bustard holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, in addition to degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (BS, MLIS, PhD). She was named after Anne of Green Gables, and books have always been central to her life. A former elementary school teacher, co-owner of a children’s bookstore, and acclaimed university lecturer, Anne is the author of three nonfiction works for young readers, including the award-winning BUDDY: THE STORY OF BUDDY HOLLY. Her debut middle-grade historical novel, ANYWHERE BUT PARADISE, was published by Egmont USA in 2015. Anne lives in Texas, where she is a part of the vibrant Austin writing community and shares her writing space with her feral cat, Sweet Baby James.
