Bank Street honors for W&P clients

THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA by Mo Willems and TREE LADY, illustrated by Jill McElmurry, are both semi-finalists for the Irma Black Award through Bank Street College.  The Irma Black Award honors “a book in which text and illustrations are inseparable, each enhancing and enlarging on the other to produce a singular whole. The Irma Black Award is unusual in that children are the final judges of the winning book.” Voting runs through April 20, and the winner will be honored at an award breakfast in May. http://bankstreet.edu/center-childrens-literature/irma-black-award/semifinalists/

Also, THE BOY WHO LOVED MATH, illustrated by LeUyen Pham, is a finalist for the 2014 Cook Prize, honoring the best STEM picture book of the year. http://bankstreet.edu/center-childrens-literature/cook-prize/finalists/
