Rachel Hylton
Rachel Hylton grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She received her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, where she was the recipient of the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Prize and the In a Nutshell Short Story Award. You can find her short stories “Risk” in FORESHADOW: STORIES TO CELEBRATE THE MAGIC OF READING AND WRITING YA and “The Stealth Arborist” in ONWARD: 16 CLIMATE FICTION SHORT STORIES TO INSPIRE HOPE. Through her work in educational publishing, Rachel is also the author of twelve nonfiction and narrative picture books and an editor of many more. Rachel lives in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband, their dog, and a totally legal number of chickens.
