Lexi K. Nilson
A conglomerate of order and chaos, Lexi K. delights in finding ways to make beauty out of mess and telling stories to connect to the spaces, both physical and emotional, that she shares with others.
Drawn to themes of twinkling light in the darkness and gentle moments hiding in the hubbub, Lexi’s stories reflect her deep belief in something bigger. Her debut picture book, CAPTAIN, will be published in Spring 2027 by Union Square Kids and will be followed by SHOW PONIES published by Chronicle Books in 2028. Both books demonstrate a breadth in her interests and work ranging from tender and painterly to fun, informational, and graphic.
Overall, Lexi is a maker and when she’s not writing or painting, she’s probably doing something with her hands (and it probably also involves some form of fiber craft). She lives in the mountains of NW Montana with her husband and their wild ginger dog, Dutch.
