Augusta Scattergood

Scattergood - headshotFormer librarian and children’s book reviewer Augusta Scattergood has devoted her life and career to getting books into the hands of young readers. Her reviews and articles have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, Delta Magazine, the SCBWI Bulletin, and other publications. Her debut novel GLORY BE (Scholastic Press, 2012) draws on some of her own remembrances of growing up in Mississippi. GLORY BE was an NPR “Backseat Book Club” pick in July 2013, a CBC Notable Social Studies Trade Book, and an Amazon Top 20 Middle Grade Novel for 2013. Her next book middle grade, THE WAY TO STAY IN DESTINY, was published in January 2015, again by Scholastic. She and her husband split their time between Madison, New Jersey, and St. Petersburg, Florida.
