Zebo began early. At age six, Zebo painted her first mural, Winnie the Pooh, on her bedroom wall. Saturday morning art classes immediately ensued! By age eleven, Zebo went pro, painting her first commissioned mural. After graduating with a BFA from the University of Maryland, she was off to Chicago to pursue her artistic goals. The rest, as they say, is “art” history. Today Zebo commissions murals and portraits from NYC to Key West. Her illustrations have appeared in newspapers and magazines. She even designed her town logo! Although many years have passed since Zebo left her childhood bedroom of storybook characters, her love of them remains the same. So she joined SCBWI, put together a new portfolio and is now working on her first picture book. Her desire is that someday children will be painting one of her picture book characters on their bedroom walls! Zebo happily resides in not-so-sunny Florida with her always sunny husband, Sam, and their three Jack Russell “terrorists,” Jack, Bean, and three-legged Mouse.
