Lindsay H. Metcalf

Growing up on a Kansas farm, Lindsay H. Metcalf wrote one of her first stories about a smitten, waltzing ostrich. Somehow that segued into a journalism degree at the University of Kansas, and later, a job at The Kansas City Star, where she worked as a reporter, editor, and parenting columnist. Lindsay rekindled her love of children’s books when she realized that her two rambunctious little boys would sit still for a good story. She writes both fiction and nonfiction picture books from her home in flyover country, a place wholly worth stopping to visit.
